The Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer system was specifically designed by Ruiding for Huizhou Yuxin New Materials Co., Ltd. Huizhou Yuxin New Materials Co., Ltd. possesses the world's largest single-set production capacity for maleic anhydride facilities.

 

This Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer system is capable of processing 150,000 tons of maleic anhydride off-gas and a small amount of waste liquid annually. Ruiding innovatively employs either a standalone Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) process or a standalone Thermal Oxidizer (TO) process for off-gas treatment. This marks the world's first adoption of a new process combining "RTO + TO + Waste Heat Recovery System", achieving the largest processing air volume of 480,000 standard cubic meters per single unit and treating 2.5 tons per hour of waste liquid. Additionally, the waste heat recovery system captures residual heat, converting it into saturated steam at a rate of 200 tons per hour, with parameters of 9.45 MPaG and 535°C. This saturated steam is then used to supply heat to the desalination water system.

 

The system occupies an area of 35*59 meters and includes components such as a mist separator, thermal filter, RTO, spray scrubbing tower, electrostatic precipitator, TO, high-pressure steam superheater, SCR reactor, waste gas preheater, desalination flue gas heat exchanger, chimney, startup fan, reverse draw fan, and combustion system. The combined RTO plus TO unit ensures that the flue gas emissions meet environmental standards.

 

The project achieved mechanical completion on September 30,2021, and concluded hot state debugging, including furnace drying, on November 10,2021. It officially commenced production and operation in early December 2021.

 

Theory:
The RTO is comprised of insulated chambers filled with high-temperature ceramic media. During operation, the polluted air enters the oxidizer through an energy recovery chamber, where the ceramic media preheats it before introducing it to the oxidation chamber. As the air moves through the bed, its temperature rises rapidly. The oxidation reaction takes place in the combustion chamber, converting the pollutant-laden air into CO2 and water vapor, releasing a significant amount of thermal energy.

 

The hot, clean gas exits through the second recovery bed, leaving the heat in the ceramic media. In the next cycle, the process stream flows in reverse, utilizing the stored heat to preheat the incoming air. By periodically switching the inlet, outlet, and purge processes, the flow changes direction in the oxidizer, completing the preheating, oxidation, heat storage, and release stages. This heat storage process allows the thermal energy released during oxidation to be reused, reducing fuel consumption for preheating.

 

To maintain optimal heat recovery efficiency, the direction of the process stream is regularly switched using automatic diverter valves controlled by the PLC system.

(3) The heat storage chamber utilizes ceramic materials for direct graded heat exchange, leading to a uniform temperature increase. This strengthens heat transfer inside the furnace, allowing for a reduction in the incinerator's volume. This significantly lowers equipment costs, minimizes land footprint, and maximally reduces construction and installation expenses.

 

(4) Ruiding's designed RTO employs an innovative three-chamber heat storage system, providing a furnace with high radiation temperature and pressure, rapid heating, remarkable low-temperature heat exchange effects, and maximum recovery of sensible heat in combustion products. The result is high thermal efficiency, low exhaust temperatures, and notable energy savings.

 

(5) Ruiding possesses a technologically advanced engineering analysis service laboratory equipped with cutting-edge equipment. This laboratory can analyze and detect various critical parameters of hazardous waste, offering customers exclusive solutions tailored to their specific needs and waste conditions.
