Overview:

It adopts heat storage combustion technology (RTO/RHT), decomposes harmful gases through high-temperature oxidation, and reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, meeting strict environmental standards, and is an ideal choice for the chemical and coating industries. Designed specifically for industrial furnaces above 1200°C, the honeycomb ceramic heat storage body quickly absorbs flue gas heat and then transfers it to cold air to achieve high-temperature stable output, and is widely used in metallurgical heating furnaces, forging furnaces and other scenarios.

Product Introduction:

The system is customized for the world's largest single maleic anhydride production unit (Huizhou Yuxin). It is the first in the world to adopt the "RTO+TO+waste heat cascade utilization" process chain for high-flow, low-concentration VOCs waste gas and organic waste liquid. The waste gas is pre-decomposed by RTO thermal storage oxidation (heat recovery rate ≥ 95%), and the TO high-temperature incineration (800-1000°C) strengthens the treatment of difficult-to-degrade components. Combined with ultra-high-pressure steam co-production (9.45MPaG), the waste gas/waste liquid is simultaneously harmless and energy-based. The system integrates desalination heat exchange, SCR denitrification and other modules. The incineration tail gas is discharged in compliance with the standards after multi-stage purification. The waste heat steam is directly reused in the production link, forming a "pollution control-energy regeneration-process heating" closed loop. The annual steam supply value of a single system exceeds 100 million yuan.

Theory:
The RTO is comprised of insulated chambers filled with high-temperature ceramic media. During operation, the polluted air enters the oxidizer through an energy recovery chamber, where the ceramic media preheats it before introducing it to the oxidation chamber. As the air moves through the bed, its temperature rises rapidly. The oxidation reaction takes place in the combustion chamber, converting the pollutant-laden air into CO2 and water vapor, releasing a significant amount of thermal energy.

 

The hot, clean gas exits through the second recovery bed, leaving the heat in the ceramic media. In the next cycle, the process stream flows in reverse, utilizing the stored heat to preheat the incoming air. By periodically switching the inlet, outlet, and purge processes, the flow changes direction in the oxidizer, completing the preheating, oxidation, heat storage, and release stages. This heat storage process allows the thermal energy released during oxidation to be reused, reducing fuel consumption for preheating.

 

To maintain optimal heat recovery efficiency, the direction of the process stream is regularly switched using automatic diverter valves controlled by the PLC system.

 

Advantages:
(1) ‌The air volume of a single RTO is 480,000 Nm³/h, which is the largest scale in the world and is suitable for the needs of chemical plants of one million tons. The waste liquid and waste gas are treated in coordination, and the compatibility covers process derivatives such as maleic anhydride and phthalic anhydride.

(2) ‌The original 9.45MPaG/535°C high-pressure steam co-generation technology improves the heat recovery efficiency by 25% compared with the conventional system, and the steam can directly drive industrial turbines or process heating.

(3) ‌Adopting RTO+TO process coupling technology, RTO pre-oxidation reduces TO fuel consumption, the comprehensive VOCs removal rate is ≥99.5%, and NOx emissions are <50 mg/m³. The SCR denitrification system uses a low-temperature catalyst (180-300°C) to adapt to flue gas temperature fluctuations, and the ammonia escape rate is <3 ppm.

(4) ‌The modular layout saves space, and the supporting intelligent control system realizes unattended operation. The technology has been extended to many leading enterprises, with a cumulative reduction of VOCs by more than 500,000 tons/year.

 

R&D and Production:

Ruiding has established the jiangsu province clean incineration resource engineering technology center and the key laboratory of the JICUI-Ruidings joint innovation center.
