The untreated waste gas first passes through a ‌pre-stage water seal tank‌ (equipped with a ‌demisting section‌) to remove moisture and particulate matter. It is then pressurized by a ‌waste gas fan‌ and directed through a ‌flame arrester‌ into the ‌ceramic heat storage layer‌ of the regenerative chamber, where it is preheated to approximately ‌350 °C‌.

 

The preheated gas enters the ‌catalytic layer‌, where organic components undergo complete oxidation and decomposition under the catalytic action of the catalyst. An ‌electric heating device‌ in the ‌flue gas diversion channel‌ ensures the outlet temperature from the catalytic bed reaches ‌400 °C‌, guaranteeing thorough destruction of organic pollutants.

 

The resulting flue gas is ‌secondarily distributed‌ through the diversion channel into another set of ‌regenerative chambers‌, where it exchanges heat with ‌ceramic heat storage packing‌. After heat recovery, the cooled flue gas is discharged through a chimney into the atmosphere, ‌meeting emission standards‌.

 

Theory:

The Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer (RCO) uses two insulated chambers filled with high-temperature ceramic media. During operation, the process stream enters an energy recovery chamber, where ceramic media preheats it before introducing it to the oxidation chamber. As the stream moves through the inlet bed, its temperature rises.

 

After oxidation in the combustion chamber through the catalyst, pollutants turn into CO2 and water vapor, releasing thermal energy. The clean gas exits through the second recovery bed, leaving heat in the ceramic media to preheat the inlet stream in the next cycle.Combining the catalyst and ceramic media, RCO significantly reduces fuel consumption during thermal oxidation and preheating, resulting in lower operating costs.
